LETTING GO

I have always prided myself on being an optimistic person, but I've absolutely had my fair share of moments where fear and scarcity have taken over. Whenever I fall into fearful and scarcity thinking, I notice how it feels in my body first. I get a sinking feeling in my stomach, my heart races and i think the worse! Can you relate?

Since I have embarked on my healing journey I have cultivated tools and rituals that have truly helped me regain my sense of calm and positivity and enabled me to release the fear. I am thrilled to be sharing them with you, to motivate you to create and fill your own healing toolbox.

One of the most courageous decisions you’ll ever make is to finally let go of what is hurting your heart and soul, let go of the illusion that it could have been any different

When you decide to let go, you’re not losing hope, you’re only hoping for better, hoping for something worth holding on to.

Because in letting go, you learn that sometimes hanging on hurts more. That fighting harder makes you lose and that waiting only wastes your time.

In letting go you learn that some people only come into your life to teach you how to move on, to teach you exactly who you shouldn’t hold on to.

In letting go, you learn that things you’re afraid of doing are exactly the thing’s you need to do so you can grow and set yourself free.

In letting go you learn that you may lose some people but you will always find yourself.

Journal prompts

So to keep it nice and simple, whenever i feel overwhelmed or am in need of some clarity, I start off by turning to these three questions and find three answers for each one, i particularly love that the letting go here is sandwiched between two strong positives. Alway caress the past with presents of light.

And because we are habitual and visual creature’s - with each of these questions I connect a physical ritual.

  1. What am I most grateful for? - Whilst holding a clear crystal quartz close to my chest I send thanks and acknowledgement to each of my answers whilst breathing love and light towards my gratitudes.

  2. What do I need to let go of? - With a lit candle I read each answer calmly and send thanks and love for everything it has taught you and the lessons you have learnt, but it is now time to let go and say goodbye. Blow out your candle and visualise the thing you are letting go of dissipate with the smoke.

  3. What am I manifesting? - - Whilst holding a citrine close to my chest I send strength and belief to each of my answers whilst breathing love and light towards my goals.

Sage bundles

Sage bundles are Sage bundles honestly couldn’t be easier to make and it’s so worth creating your own as you can really set your intentions into the creation as well as knowing the your smudging is ethical and sourced locally. You just need to bundle together fresh sage with either (or all) thyme, rosemary and lavender. Tightly bundle from top to toe, hang in the airing cupboard or over a radiator and once fully dried its ready to smudge! If you want a more in-depth tutorial YouTube has loads of them.

Smudging is an ancient spiritual ritual with the intention is to cleanse spaces, people and things. The belief is that by burning certain herbs it attaches to negativity and as the smoke dissipates so does the energy. In cleansing the space you are creating organisation and calm, letting go of old baggage … replaces stagnant energy with vibrancy.

How to? There is no right or wrong here let your intuition guide you but you must first set a clear intention and then concentrate on pushing the negative energy out.

How to tips::

  • With intention light the sage and and gently blow out the fire for the smoke.

  • Concentrate on the corners of rooms and behind doors and furniture etc..

  • Circle the sage bundle around the top of a person (of yourself) head and make your way down to the feet, visualising the negative pushing through the root chakra and into the earth.

  • Push out the negative from space and thought

  • Light the Sage bundle from an already lit flame and try not to light from a lighter or matches.

A burning ceremony

The best time to perform a burning ceremony is when you are going through a challenging time in life, or a transition or big change. When you let go of expectations, the world becomes full of opportunities. During the burning ceremony, you can sense how the flames burn old energy in turn leaving you open to endless possibilities.

Be positive and genuine about your feelings. The ceremony should be performed when you’re in a peaceful mood.

It couldn’t be easier all you need to do is write down what it is you want to let go of and how it has made you feel. Repeat the following intentions and safely burn your paper. Watch and visualise as the flames engulf what ever it is you are releasing, taking with it any negative feeling, only to leave the lessons we learnt.

  • I am peaceful

  • I am grounded

  • I let go of attachments

  • I find peace when I let go

Celebrate the end of the burning ceremony with the acknowledgment that you have closed the door on a part of your life that brought you sorrow and negativity but that you learned from and for that you are eternally grateful.

By burning away the past, you can free yourself from any regret, sorrow, or pain, and look forward to a brighter future. Let the burning ceremony allow you to sense a feeling of closure, and move on.

And there we have it my 3 rituals to help let go and find inner peace.
